“These were His words to Nicodemus,” Elric said. “It must be truth. Are we then to expect His followers’ spirits to come back to life? Mortal bodies with living spirits? Can you imagine the power of an army alive to God? Led by the King Himself? They will crush the enemy and take back the dominion of earth. We are, indeed, at the threshold of the most astounding time in all history.”
Zaben scrunched his face again. “But these disciples—they believe. They do not have re-born spirits, do they?”
“No,” Jenli said with a flat tone. “Surely, we would see it.”
“Then when shall this re-birth occur?” Zaben said. “What brings it to pass? There must be something missing. What are we missing?”
Elric nodded and crossed his arms. “There is something more. Something yet to be revealed. Always a shroud of mystery, this assignment.”
In The Battle, the third book in the series, follow captain Elric and his team down a harrowing journey of discovery as their plans unravel and the King’s true intent unfolds.
“A large crowd today,” Luxor said.
Zaben nodded. “The largest one yet.”
“This could be the foundation of a sizeable army. I am confused, though,” Luxor said. “‘Blessed are the meek’ are not words to rally an army.”
Zaben smiled. “Welcome to the team. We have our orders, but the King executes on His timetable and according to His ways. He is always more interested in hearts than battle plans.”
“Still, there is going to be a battle?”
“Eventually. We know very little.”
